A January 28, 2013, USA Today article announced a new study, which reported “Nearly half of working Americans with college degrees are in jobs for which they’re overqualified.”
Data cited in the report included 15% of taxi drivers and 25% of retail sales clerks in 2010 held bachelor’s degrees. The article also drew attention to recent efforts to “boost” tuition support for college bound students, which has the potential to worsen the problem in the future.
